About Us
Hi! I’m Simone and with my husband Dion, and the two teens Ruby and Tilly we run a small tourism business based in Collie called TraaVerse.
I am a Collie local, born and bred! But I did make the move away to travel overseas, then married and moved to Tom Price in the Pilbara for 10 years to work and explore.
The girls were born in Collie but lived in the Pilbara for the start of their journey. As a family, we love to travel and have explored the Pilbara and Kimberly, the South West and travelled as a family to Europe in 2019 for six weeks.
I have a background in both Medical Science, I worked as a Phlebotomist, also worked in the mining industry and recently completed my Cert III in tourism. Dion works for a mining company in the Pilbara as a Maintenance Manager (certainly having the best of both worlds).
I volunteer for a number of local sports organisations including the Collie Basketball Association, Collie Netball Association and Stephen Michael Foundation. I currently sit on the Collie River Valley Marketing Board, and Trails Panel and previously have been heavily involved in the Collie River Visitor Centre Board, Amaroo Primary School P&C, Collie Netball and Hockey Association committees. I am heavily invested in my community and giving back is part of our business ethos.
Upon returning ‘home’ to Collie my love of travel and adventure didn’t fade and I quickly realised that there are amazing destinations in and around Collie but a lack of equipment hire and servicing to these locations.
Over time the idea of a tourism business in Collie was born to help visitors move around the Collie River Valley with the ability to book services and equipment to get out and about in the area.
I love meeting people and pride myself on a high level of customer service to make your day out hassle-free.
